I often say, “Food is the love language of the Chinese people.” If you’ve ever been to a Chinese banquet, you know that we love good food and lots of it! We celebrate birthdays, weddings, memorials, and all special occasions with food. Good food is the way we share love and celebrate relationships. I’ve found this to be true in every culture I’ve experienced.

In a season like this, it can seem hard to believe that spiritual growth is possible. But this is when we need it the most.

Even in many places across the country where COVID restrictions are being lifted, and campuses are reopening soon, many things are still difficult with no easy solutions. We can’t avoid the darkness that surfaced in the last year and a half. It can feel overwhelming.

So how can you support Asian American students, faculty, and staff on campuses and the whole Asian American ‘ohana in this trying time?

God is our hope when we feel disoriented. He loves us and is faithful to show us his mercies each day.

So how can we grow in living out God’s heart for racial justice? 

God’s invites us to not only join him in the suffering around us; he is also inviting us to explore our own personal disappointments and losses on a deeper level. This difficult time can be an opportunity to cultivate newness.
