(Madison, WI) --- Janet Luhrs Balajthy has been appointed interim vice president and director of Collegiate Ministries for ��Ƶ Christian Fellowship.

Janet began her career with ��Ƶ planting campus chapters on Long Island in 1975, and she became ��Ƶ’s first female regional director, overseeing the work in New York/New Jersey for seven years. She served as the national field director for the Northeast for 13 years before becoming the associate director of Collegiate Ministries. Janet also presides over ��Ƶ’s Women’s Council.

Janet holds graduate degrees in counseling from Hofstra University and in biblical studies from Wheaton College Graduate School. She and her husband live in Rochester, New York, and have two grown children.

“Janet brings a wealth of insight and experience from her decades ministering among students and faculty,” said president Jim Lundgren. “She has been invaluable to the movement as associate director of Collegiate Ministries, and ��Ƶ is blessed to have someone so well prepared for this role.” Janet will continue to reside in Rochester, and will begin her new role on June 22.

Janet’s appointment was one of the first decisions announced by Jim, after becoming president of ��Ƶ. Jim was appointed interim president by ��Ƶ’s board of trustees following the announcement by former president Alec Hill that he was stepping down, due to a diagnosis of bone marrow cancer.

��Ƶ is a campus ministry that has been active on U.S. college and university campuses for almost 75 years. ��Ƶ is a charter affiliate with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES), and is a charter member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).

(Madison, WI) – ��Ƶ Christian Fellowship has appointed Kim Porter to the newly created position of Vice President: Director of Learning and Talent. The new position highlights ��Ƶ’s commitment to expanding and fine tuning our ministry to college students and faculty.

“I am very excited about Kim’s appointment,” said ��Ƶ president Alec Hill. “She brings experience, passion, and wisdom to a critical area. Our mission can’t move forward unless our people are developed.”

Since joining ��Ƶ staff in 1991, Kim has continually sought to cultivate leadership: from a chapter planter developing a core of missional students to Northwest Regional Director growing a dynamic multiethnic team. The last two years, in her role as Director of Staff Director Training, she focused exclusively on the development of leaders and facilitating an environment for learning.

Kim is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University. She has a Master’s degree in Adult Education from Portland State University and is looking forward to shaping a culture of learning at all levels in ��Ƶ.

“I am excited to join the Cabinet at this critical time when there is both ownership and momentum with our strategic initiatives,” she said. “I look forward to collaborating with teams and departments across the movement to work towards greater ministry fruitfulness.”

��Ƶ is a campus ministry which has worked with students and faculty on U.S. college and university campuses for more than 72 years. ��Ƶ has more than 900 chapters active on almost 600 campuses, from Ivy League universities to community colleges. ��Ƶ is a charter member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES).
