After my disastrous encounter in the deli with Kyle, I decided to learn everything I could about loving people through faith transitions. As someone deeply committed to the way of Jesus, how I treat other people in their moments of doubt, disillusionment, and disbelief matters.
Throughout my life, I never thought I鈥檇 be a missionary, let alone a good one. But as followers of Creator Sets Free (Jesus), called to share his good news to all people, we鈥檙e all missionaries in some sense (Matt 28:19鈥20). And being called to be a missionary on campus has brought a lot of healing in my life.
We need to remind ourselves that we do evangelism in a time of crisis not to fill some 鈥済ood-Christian quota鈥 but because it鈥檚 good for our souls.
鈥淲hen was the last time you prayed for your community? For your church? For your city? Are the only prayers you offer up to the Lord ones where you ask him to work in your own life?鈥
God gets there first. He鈥檚 at work before we ever arrive on the scene. And that makes us, Christian witnesses, detectives and investigators of sorts.
"So living on mission for God means first sharing the gospel with everyone I meet, right? Because only when I make evangelism my first goal am I being a true, living witness and a messenger of hope. Or am I?"
Avengers: Endgame struck a chord in people across the world. And like other art forms, it provides an inside look into today鈥檚 Western culture, especially when we consider the movie from a Christian perspective.
鈥淲hat difference does it make if I pray by prayer-walking or pray in my bathroom?鈥 Prayer-walking will certainly have moments of discomfort or awkwardness...But God will engage your senses to make you more aware of the revival he wants to bring to the places you鈥檙e currently standing in.
